Plenary Conference

The conference opening sets the framework for the discussions for the next few days. The plenary discussions will give an overview of zero waste as a resource management strategy and discuss circular economy as a new and sustainable direction of urban development.

The conference opening sets the framework for the discussions for the next few days. The plenary discussions will give an overview of zero waste as a resource management strategy and discuss circular economy as a new and sustainable direction of urban development.

City Leaders’ Forum

These discussions aim to inspire participants on a common vision to transform the linear economic system into a circular economy. The session will also explore leadership models needed for the transformation.

City Managers’ Forum

Focusing on city managers (i.e. Head of Section and Section Office / SKPD), these sessions are going to explore the technical aspects of implementation, such as work program and budget considerations that support system transformation. This session will be conducted in two locations, namely Cimahi and Soreang, West Java.

Civil Society Forum

Community participation is needed to drive change. This forum will feature active discussions on how communities can engage in order to further the Zero Waste advocacy. Concurrent sessions have been prepared to encourage participants to look deeper into topics such as the zero waste masterplan in EU or organics management practices in Indian households.

Site Visit

Participants are going to visit some zero waste model areas located in Bandung, Cimahi, and Soreang, and look at  examples of implemented model that can be replicated and adapted in any city.
